Sovereignty
Your identity, your data, your rules. Macksie does not mediate who you are. You claim your identity with a cryptographic key, and no central authority can revoke it, suspend it, or speak on your behalf without your private key.
ARTICLE II
Ownership
You own what you create. Every file, every message, every relationship, every creative work — stored on your hardware, encrypted with your keys, controlled by your permissions. Macksie never holds your content hostage.
ARTICLE III
Privacy
Protected by cryptography, not policy. Your private data is encrypted before it leaves your machine. Trusted devices store fragments they cannot read. Privacy is a mathematical guarantee, not a promise in a terms-of-service agreement.
ARTICLE IV
Free Speech
No central authority censors. Each node operator decides what they host and who they communicate with. Macksie provides the tools for communication; it does not police the content of that communication.
ARTICLE V
Open Code
Inspect everything. Macksie is open source. The protocol, the implementation, the cryptographic choices — all visible, all auditable, all forkable. No security through obscurity. No hidden backdoors.
ARTICLE VI
Federation
Nodes talk to nodes, not platforms to users. Macksie is a mesh of sovereign nodes that interoperate through the Kin protocol. No single node is a gatekeeper. No node can speak for another. The network is the sum of its connections, not the product of a central service.
ARTICLE VII
Honest State
The interface never lies. It tells you what has synced, what is pending, what cannot be undone. It does not show "safe" when it is not. It does not pretend a revoked grant has been erased from a remote device. Honest state is the foundation of trust — if the interface lies, nothing else matters.
